Exactly redefined is a concept that first emanated many years back when I was casting my fishing line to lure the elusive tiger fish off a houseboat in Lake Kariba while the call of the African Fish Eagle reverberated across the vast water expanse. Moment of sheer magic. This feeling accompanied me over the years. I feel it when I spend quality time with family or friends whether over a meal or a beverage. I feel it when the fresh morning breeze rushes to meet me as I gasp for a recovery breath while my bicycle summits yet another climb. I catch it when I spot a non-resident bird in my back yard ruffling through branches and calling for its mate. I feel it when the sun beats down while my back cries for relief as I hike through a nature reserve. I feel it when I pause, wherever whenever writing about something that inspires me. Moments of magic. Exactly. Redefined.

More recently I’ve come to appreciate being present. Aware of history and mindful of the future, it is the present that needs to be relished savoured enjoyed. Being present creates the moment, the magic. Exactly. Redefined..
